Overwatch 2 reveals its first Thai hero, Lifeweaver, who is also the first openly pansexual hero in the game. He becomes available on April 12, just in time for Songkran, the Thai New Year.
Lifeweaver's real name is Niran PruksaManee, nicknamed Bua (lotus in Thai). He's voiced by Thai actor Phuwin Tangsakyuen and plays as a support hero who uses biolight technology — inspired by the concept of prana, or life force energy — to heal and protect allies.
His abilities include Healing Blossom (charge a glowing flower for scaling heal), Thorn Volley (barrage of thorns dealing damage), Vine Lash (connect to an ally for healing and speed boost, or an enemy to damage and pull them), and Lotus Shield (a lotus-shaped barrier that blocks and reflects damage).
Lifeweaver's design draws from Thai art and architecture — the lotus flower motif, temple roof shapes, and a personality that reflects Thai values of kindness, generosity, and humor.
