GIGABYTE just gave its anime mascot ARI a new graphics card to ride, and the company is treating the box itself as part of the product.
The AORUS GeForce RTX 5060 ARI 8G carries an estimated SRP of PHP 34,940 and is set to land in the Philippines this October. It runs on NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5060 GPU, an entry-to-midrange chip aimed at 1080p and light 1440p gaming rather than anything ambitious. The RTX 5060 itself is nothing new. What GIGABYTE is selling here is the character wrapped around it.
ARI is GIGABYTE's original mascot, and this is the line's latest card after earlier ARI-themed releases built around different GPUs. The formula stays the same: a backplate redesigned around the character's art, RGB lighting tuned to match, and a WINDFORCE cooling setup carried over largely unchanged from GIGABYTE's standard lineup. That includes the company's Hawk fan design, which GIGABYTE says pushes air pressure up by 53.6 percent and volume by 12.5 percent over a conventional fan, plus a large copper contact plate and composite heat pipes to keep the card quiet under load.
The one genuinely different idea here is the unboxing. Every AORUS ARI 8G ships with a physical ARI figure packed inside, and GIGABYTE is randomizing which of five color variants buyers get. It is a gacha mechanic bolted onto PC hardware retail, and it works because the audience GIGABYTE is chasing already understands the appeal of not knowing what you are getting until you open the box.
That audience is also the entire point of the ARI line. GIGABYTE is not trying to convince mainstream PC builders to care about an anime skin on their GPU. It is trying to give anime fans who already buy hardware a reason to pick GIGABYTE over a functionally identical Radeon or GeForce card from a rival board partner. Character-themed hardware has worked for GIGABYTE before, and an entry-level RTX 5060 card is a low-risk way to keep testing how far the mascot can stretch across price tiers.
What buyers are not getting is anything the RTX 5060 did not already offer. Performance, memory and connectivity are unchanged from a standard AORUS card at this tier. If the ARI aesthetic and the figure in the box do not move you, there is no reason to pay a premium for it over a plainer version of the same GPU.
