Respawn Entertainment has announced the shutdown of Apex Legends Mobile on May 1st. All purchases made within the game will not be refunded. The shutdown is the result of a "mutual decision" between Respawn and its development partner, Tencent's Lightspeed & Quantum Studios.
Despite the shutdown, EA's CEO Andrew Wilson has stated the company plans to "reimagine a connected Apex mobile experience in the future" as mobile remains a growth vector for the franchise.
In-game purchases with real money became unavailable at 5:00 PM Philippine Time, with the game removed from app stores simultaneously. The official shutdown took effect at 7:00 AM Philippine Time on May 1st.
