AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.8.1 landed a day before Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy launches on August 27, which is the point. Rather than batching features into a quarterly driver drop, AMD keeps shipping updates timed to specific release dates, turning what used to be routine driver maintenance into a marketing beat of its own.
Resonance gets day-one AMD FSR Upscaling and FSR Frame Generation, with AMD claiming up to 3x the frame rate on RX 9000 series cards when both are enabled. That number comes from AMD's own testing, not an independent benchmark, so treat it as a ceiling rather than what most players will see in practice. FSR 4 upscaling in particular is doing a lot of the lifting on lower-end hardware, where native rendering at higher settings would otherwise struggle.
Two More Games, One More GPU
The same driver also adds day-one support for STAR WARS Zero Company and for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta's early access window, meaning AMD users get FSR support on the beta from the same day PlayStation, Xbox and PC players do rather than waiting for a follow-up patch. Adrenalin 26.8.1 additionally adds support for the Radeon RX 9050 4GB, the budget card AMD introduced under $300 back in July.
One known issue ships with this release: Anti-Lag 2 can show as inactive in Resonance after Frame Generation is turned off, even though the feature itself is still working correctly. AMD recommends running the Cleanup Utility before rolling back to an older driver version if that or anything else causes problems. It's a minor caveat, but worth knowing before troubleshooting a setting that isn't actually broken.
