Rozemyne's next stop is school, and she will get there with the same animation studio. The official Ascendance of a Bookworm anime site confirmed on October 3 that the Royal Academy arc, known in Japan as Kizokuin no Jishou Toshoiin (roughly "the Royal Academy's self-appointed library committee member"), is getting a TV anime. WIT STUDIO followed with its own announcement on October 5, saying it will animate the new season.

That second part matters as much as the first. Long-running adaptations often change studios between seasons, and the look of a show can shift a lot when they do. Keeping WIT on board means the new arc should pick up directly from the style of the season that just ended.

Picking up right where Adopted Daughter left off

The new season follows the Adopted Daughter of an Archduke arc, which premiered on April 4, 2026 and ran for two consecutive cours on a nationwide Japanese network. According to the official site, that arc closed on Rozemyne saying "Well then, I'm off" as she was transported to the Royal Academy. The announcement leans on that cliffhanger directly.

The Royal Academy arc adapts Part 4 of Miya Kazuki's light novel series, published in Japan by TO Books with illustrations by You Shiina. The official synopsis has Rozemyne waking from a sleep of about two years to find everything around her has changed. With barely any time to adjust, she enrolls at the Royal Academy, the school where young nobles learn to handle mana and brew magic tools and where archduke candidates train to rule their duchies.

It is meant to be a dorm life story about growing up alongside eccentric teachers and children from other duchies. Then Rozemyne learns the academy has a huge library, and the official synopsis says royalty and her fellow archduke candidates barely register after that. Anyone who has watched her chase books from the very first episode will not be surprised.

A celebration sketch, but no date yet

To mark the announcement, Aiko Minowa, the character designer on the Adopted Daughter season, drew a celebration illustration of Rozemyne in her academy outfit. WIT STUDIO posted it alongside its announcement.

That is all that has been revealed so far. Neither WIT nor the official site has named an air date, a broadcast window, cast or the rest of the staff. On the Adopted Daughter season, Yoshiaki Iwasaki directed, Mariko Kunisawa handled series composition and Yuka Iguchi voiced Rozemyne, with Sho Hayami as Ferdinand. None of them have been confirmed for the new season yet, though WIT returning makes continuity more likely.

A bigger stage for Rozemyne

The official announcement frames the Royal Academy as a new stage for the story. Rozemyne goes from her own duchy's temple and workshops to a school full of nobles and royals from other duchies, all while trying to spend as much time as possible in a library. The same mix of book obsession, family ties and magic that carried the earlier seasons now has a much bigger cast to play off.

The Adopted Daughter of an Archduke season is streaming now on various platforms, according to the official site, so there is time to catch up before more news drops. Streaming plans for the Royal Academy season have not been announced, and we will update this story when the next batch of details lands.
