Dragon Ball Super: Beerus starts streaming on Crunchyroll on October 11, ending the wait that started when Toei Animation confirmed the project for a fall 2026 window without a day attached. Southeast Asia is in the first wave, so Philippine viewers get it alongside North America, Europe and the rest of the launch territories.
When we covered it in our Fall 2026 anime preview, the only firm detail was the season. Toei and Crunchyroll's joint announcement now fills in the date, the cast and the staff.
An enhanced edition, not a straight rerun
Beerus revisits the opening of Dragon Ball Super: the God of Destruction wakes from a long sleep, hears that a Saiyan beat Frieza, and comes looking for Goku. Crunchyroll and Toei describe this version as an enhanced edition featuring both updated and all-new animation and visuals, built on Akira Toriyama's original story, character designs and creative vision.
That wording is the selling point. This isn't a new arc, it's a second pass at the story that kicked off the Dragon Ball Super era, with the visuals reworked. How much is redrawn versus touched up won't be clear until episodes go live, and that's what longtime fans will be watching for.
Who's back
The two lead voices return. Masako Nozawa reprises Son Goku and Kōichi Yamadera returns as Beerus.
Toei Animation produces, with this staff list from the official credits:
- Original work, story and character design: Akira Toriyama
- Composition and direction arrangement: Matsuto Seya
- Animation character design and general animation director: Tadayoshi Yamamuro
- Editing: Eiichi Nishimura
- Compositing director: Yōsuke Motoki
- Music: Norihito Sumitomo
Putting a single general animation director over the whole project signals that consistency of the art is the priority, which fits an edition whose entire pitch is better visuals.
Subtitled only, for now
The announcement specifies subtitled streaming across the United States, Canada, Latin America including Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Southeast Asia and Europe. There's no mention of an English or other dub, so anyone waiting to watch dubbed should assume subtitles are the only option at launch.
The announcement also doesn't say how many episodes the enhanced edition runs or whether it releases weekly or all at once. We'll update this piece once Crunchyroll's listing goes live on October 11.
