Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World is getting a Season III. KADOKAWA announced the new season on October 25 through a release on PR TIMES and a livestream on its KADOKAWA Anime Channel, alongside a new teaser visual, a story introduction and the first round of staff and cast.
The timing is the notable part. Season I aired from October to December 2020, and fans waited more than four years for Season II, which ran from April to June 2025. Season III was confirmed roughly 16 months after that second season ended, and KADOKAWA says the Season II staff and cast are carrying over.
No air date yet
Don't expect it right away. In a comment published with the announcement, original author Kei Sazane said production is still in progress and asked fans to give it some time before the season airs. KADOKAWA's release gives no year or broadcast window.
Sazane did promise a bigger story, saying Season III moves into a larger-scale arc and episodes that reach the core of the series.
Where Season III picks up
Season II closed on Alice ordering her attendant Rin to slip into the Empire with Iska's unit and bring back the third princess, Sisbell, who had been taken there. According to the official introduction, Season III follows that infiltration. Inside Empire territory, the group runs into research aimed at creating unknown "true witches."
Back in the Nebulis Sovereignty, Alice serves as acting queen while keeping watch on the Zoa and Hydra houses. The awakening of the founder Nebulis, asleep beneath the royal palace, pulls her into a new fight of her own. The introduction also teases the first princess making a move against both nations and a buried history from 100 years earlier.
Staff and returning cast
Animation production stays with SILVER LINK. and studio Palette. Kei Sazane's light novels run under KADOKAWA's Fantasia Bunko label, with original character designs by Ao Nekonabe.
The first cast list confirms the main voices return:
