S&T Armament has added the SVT-40 to its lineup of World War II replicas. The Tokarev rifle was the Soviet Union's attempt to replace the bolt-action Mosin-Nagant with a semi-auto, and it's a gun that rarely gets the airsoft treatment. S&T showed its "SVT-40 G3 AEG Real Wood" at IWA OutdoorClassics 2026, and it's now listed at retailers including Evike in the US and Patrol Base in the UK.
It's a niche choice, and that's the appeal. Reenactors and WWII-themed milsim players have far fewer options than M4 and AK players, and a semi-only Soviet battle rifle in real wood is a long way from the usual catalog.
Built like the original

S&T's own IWA listing describes it as wood and metal. Patrol Base's listing goes further: aluminum alloy, steel and stamped steel parts, a one-piece real wood stock and handguard with a satin varnish, and a stamped steel top cover, heat shield and barrel band.
The period details are there too. Patrol Base lists adjustable tangent iron sights, a mock cleaning rod, a mock gas block, a four-port muzzle brake, a folding magazine release that works from either side, a trigger safety catch and steel sling points on the stock and barrel band.
Semi-only, with an ETU
True to the real rifle, the selector only offers safe and semi. Retail listings say the pre-installed ETU adds cycle control and a low-voltage cutoff. Patrol Base lists an alloy gearbox shell with 18:1 steel gears, a standard motor, a 600mm 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel and about 325 FPS with 0.20g BBs.
The hop-up is a rotary adjuster you reach by pulling the charging handle back. The battery hides in the stock, behind a butt plate you open by turning its screws 90 degrees, and the gun runs on an 11.1V LiPo stick. The barrel isn't threaded, so tracers and suppressors are out.

More history from S&T
The SVT-40 sits alongside S&T's other historical guns, and a UK retailer's 2026 preview also flagged an S&T AN-94 Abakan AEG as hoped for this year, though it notes the AN-94 hadn't entered production. For Filipino collectors, the SVT-40 will depend on local importers, but it's one of the more distinctive rifles of 2026 for anyone building a WWII Eastern Front kit.
