GHK has brought its compact AK105 carbine onto its new AK V3 gas blowback system, and the first thing owners of older GHK AKs should know is that this is a clean break. Retail listings for the AK105 V3 describe the V3 system as a complete redesign, and parts from GHK's V1 and V2 AK guns are not compatible.
That's a big call for a brand whose AK GBBRs have built up years of spare mags and upgrade parts. GHK is betting the new internals are worth starting over for. Listings for the AK105 V3 started appearing at Asian and UK retailers from around May 2026, and Redwolf describes it as the second gun in GHK's V3 AK line.

What changed inside
The V3 internals are where the redesign shows. Retailers list a new hop-up unit with a dual-nub bucking and a quick-release design that makes it easier to pull for maintenance. The bolt carrier group is full steel and runs on a two-stage recoil spring set, with a longer bolt stroke so the bolt travels its full distance like the real rifle.
Two buffers come in the box, so you can tune rate of fire and how far the bolt travels. A 21mm oversized nozzle cylinder is there to add recoil, and a reworked bolt carrier guide rail is meant to cut the risk of breaking the nozzle group, a common failure point on gas blowback rifles.
A lighter magazine
The magazine changed too. Redwolf lists a new MCGS gas magazine that's about 20% lighter than the previous version, holding 40 rounds with a textured AK74-style shell and a steel base. It's part of the V3 ecosystem, so older GHK AK mags won't carry over.
Steel where it counts
Outside, listings describe a newly made stamped steel receiver with a QPQ surface treatment, a steel top cover and steel gas block. The short AK105 barrel ends in a steel muzzle brake on a 24mm CW thread. The trigger and trigger guard, magazine release, sights, selector and charging handle are all steel too. The handguard, pistol grip and side-folding stock are fiberglass-filled polymer, and the stock has a steel butt pad with a small storage compartment behind it.

Why the AK105 makes sense for V3
The AK105 sits between the full-length AK-74M and the stubby AKS-74U, which makes it a practical size for CQB and indoor games where a full-length rifle gets in the way. If GHK's V3 internals deliver on reliability, the AK105 is a sensible gun to show them off. Philippine pricing will depend on local importers, and anyone already invested in GHK AK mags should budget for new ones.
