Lenovo first showed off Qira, its cross-device personal AI, at Tech World earlier this year, then began rolling it out to more than 20 devices in March. The interesting part of this week's update isn't a new gadget. It's who finally gets to use the thing Lenovo has been building all along.

At Lenovo Innovation World during IFA 2026 in Berlin, Lenovo announced that Lenovo & Motorola Qira is expanding to eligible PCs with just 16GB of memory, broadening access beyond the higher-memory configurations that gated it before. Since March, Qira has reached more than 80 supported PC configurations across Lenovo's commercial and consumer lines, plus select tablets and Motorola phones. Dropping the memory floor to 16GB, a spec that ships on plenty of mainstream laptops rather than only premium ones, is the difference between an AI assistant as a halo feature and one that shows up on hardware regular buyers actually purchase.

A Wearable and a Direct Line Into Your Inbox

Two other pieces of the expansion matter more than they might look at first glance. The moto watch ultra becomes the first wearable to support Lenovo & Motorola Qira, letting users raise a wrist or say "Hey Qira" to pull from the same cross-device knowledge base the PC and phone versions use. And through a new collaboration with Workato, Qira is connecting directly into Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Slack, Outlook Mail, and Outlook Calendar, the everyday apps most people already have open, rather than asking users to learn a separate Lenovo-specific workflow.

"Personal AI should not be another app waiting for a prompt," said Dan Dery, Lenovo's Vice President of AI Ecosystem, in the announcement. "It should understand what matters to you, move with you across devices and help orchestrate next steps across the agents, applications and services you choose."

That framing is doing real work. The AI assistant pitch across the PC industry has mostly meant a chatbot bolted onto an operating system. Lenovo's version is trying to be the thing that notices a calendar change or a buried email and surfaces it without a user opening a separate app to go looking, which is a materially different promise even if the underlying model work looks similar from the outside.

What's Still Vague

Lenovo's own release is careful to hedge: availability, timing, and which features actually show up "may vary by device, market, configuration and platform," and the Motorola side of the rollout depends on carriers and markets pushing the Android 17 upgrade on their own schedules. Qira currently supports six languages, with more promised but no list of which ones or when. Lenovo says it wants the experience on additional device families and form factors by the end of 2026, which is a real deadline, but one with enough room in it to slip without technically breaking the promise.

Also announced at the same Berlin event, folded under Lenovo's broader Hybrid AI push: new Yoga laptops and tablets built around NVIDIA RTX Spark, the IdeaPad Vibe and IdeaCentre AIO consumer lines, refreshed ThinkCentre and ThinkBook business hardware, and Motorola's razr with Crystals by Swarovski, a special edition flip phone aimed squarely at the fashion end of the phone market. None of it changes the actual news here, which is that the AI feature Lenovo has spent a year building out just got a lot easier to actually own.
