AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.9.1 leads with day-one support for two new games, Onimusha: Way of the Sword and The Blood of Dawnwalker. The more telling line is further down the changelog: a fix for intermittent crashes on Radeon RX 9000 series cards while playing Starfield and Apex Legends. AMD's newest GPU generation shipped with a stability issue serious enough to need a dedicated patch just weeks after launch.
Both new games join AMD's growing list of titles supporting FSR technologies, which means better performance and image quality specifically on FSR 4-capable hardware rather than older Radeon cards. That is consistent with how AMD has been rolling out FSR support all year: newest features go to newest silicon first, with older RDNA generations getting a smaller subset or nothing at all.
The driver is compatible with a wide span of hardware, from the current RX 9070, 9060 and 9050 series down through RX 7000, 6000 and 5000 series cards, plus the professional Radeon PRO W-series lineup. Laptop and all-in-one users get a pointed reminder from AMD itself: use the OEM-provided driver for your specific machine rather than this generic package, since Adrenalin Edition has limited support for vendor-specific features on notebooks.
26.9.1 is marked optional, not a required security or WHQL update, so players who are not hitting the RX 9000 crash or do not need day-one support for either new game can reasonably wait for the next mandatory release. A few known issues remain unresolved: AI Bundle components can fail to install in regions with limited access to HuggingFace and GitHub, AMD Smart Access Memory can get disabled after installation on Windows 10 systems, and Cyberpunk 2077 players on the 4GB RX 9050 should expect to lower graphics settings given the game's 6GB recommended minimum.
Anyone downgrading from a newer driver version should run the AMD Cleanup Utility first, per AMD's own release notes, to avoid conflicts between driver packages. The download is available now through AMD's support site or its auto-detect driver tool.
