Steam Next Fest gave NVIDIA another round of DLSS-supported titles to highlight, and this batch covers four meaningful entries: the Mortal Shell II Open Beta, a new playable demo for The Sinking City 2, Empulse launching into Early Access, and Subnautica 2 upgrading to native DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution.

Mortal Shell II Open Beta

Cold Symmetry and Playstack's Mortal Shell II expands significantly on the original Souls-like with unrestricted open-world exploration, deeper weapon customization, and adrenaline-focused combat. The Open Beta is live now and covers the opening hours of the full game including the Prologue and first explorable region.

GeForce RTX players get DLSS Super Resolution, Multi Frame Generation, ray-traced reflections, and global illumination in the beta. The full game releases later this year.

The Sinking City 2 Demo

Frogwares has released a one-hour playable demo for The Sinking City 2 ahead of its August 18 launch. The game sends occult adventurer Calvin Rafferty into a supernatural-flood-ravaged Lovecraftian Arkham, where decay and eldritch horrors have taken over. The demo supports DLSS Super Resolution and Multi Frame Generation for RTX users wanting both performance and image quality gains.

Empulse Goes Into Early Access

1047 Games' Empulse launched into Early Access on June 24. It's a fast-paced 6v6 movement shooter built around wall-running, grapple hooks, Holojumps, and surface-altering P.A.I.N.T. bombs. RTX players get DLSS Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, Super Resolution, and NVIDIA Reflex to reduce latency — a meaningful combination in a game where split-second movement decisions matter.

Subnautica 2 Upgrades to DLSS 4.5

Unknown Worlds' underwater survival sequel launched in May and sold millions of copies in its first weeks of Early Access. At launch, players had to manually override DLSS settings in the NVIDIA app to access the latest models. Subnautica 2 has now updated to native DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, meaning all GeForce RTX players get the best-available image quality and frame rate improvements automatically.

DLSS Keeps Expanding Fast

The speed at which Subnautica 2 adopted the latest DLSS implementation, even during Early Access, signals how mainstream the technology has become for PC game development. With Mortal Shell II and The Sinking City 2 both heading for full launches later this year, there are more RTX-enhanced titles to watch through the second half of 2026.
