Blizzard is launching Diablo IV's Season 14, "Season of Death Awakening," on July 1 AEST, and this one carries more structural weight than a standard seasonal refresh. Alongside the new questline and seasonal activity, it introduces system-wide changes to how Mythic Uniques work and finally ships the long-requested Solo Self Found mode.

The narrative setup ties to the aftermath of Lord of Hatred, with something stirring in Pandemonium — the same realm where Malthael fell in Diablo III. Season 14 adds a questline centered on this threat, giving the seasonal story more lore substance than some recent entries.

Warlock Free Trial

New players can try Diablo IV at no cost from July 1 to 7 AEST, with access to the base game and the Warlock class up to level 25. Trial progress carries over on purchase. Starting July 9, a broader Battle.net free trial opens with the base game and multiple class options available.

Pandemonium Ruptures: The Seasonal Activity

Strange ruptures are tearing open across Sanctuary, driven by the season's mystery threat. Players track down Realmwalkers to claim portals into the new Deathtoll Chamber, where the goal is expanding a ritual circle against the clock. It's a momentum-based design that rewards aggressive play rather than methodical clearing.

Mythic Uniques Get Overhauled

This is the mechanical change with the biggest long-term impact. Any Unique item now has a chance to drop or be upgraded to Mythic quality, removing the previous limitation where Mythic was reserved for a small pool of specific items. Players can now equip Mythic versions of the items they actually want to use without sacrificing power for the privilege. Build flexibility takes a real step forward here.

Solo Self Found Mode

Solo Self Found mode arrives for players who want a trading-free, partying-free experience. SSF characters climb their own exclusive leaderboards, creating a level playing field for solo competition. This has been one of the most frequently requested features from the Diablo IV community, particularly from players who want competition without the economy factor.

More in Season 14

Leaderboards exit beta in Season 14, with top performers earning exclusive Halo Cosmetics and prestige titles. A limited-time Overwatch collaboration features a free Reliquary with earnable cosmetics including the Kiriko Pet Bundle.

Season 14 drops July 1 AEST. Full patch notes and the complete content schedule are available on the official Blizzard blog.
