COLORFUL has expanded its AMD lineup with the iGame B850M ULTRA series, a pair of Micro-ATX motherboards aimed at compact Ryzen builds that still want flagship features. The ULTRA-S targets mainstream gaming while the ULTRA-OC chases overclockers, and both arrive in an all-black look meant to match COLORFUL's iGame RTX 50 Ultra graphics cards.
Micro-ATX is where a lot of real-world builds land, since not everyone wants a full tower. Putting PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7 and high-speed DDR5 into that smaller footprint is exactly what this segment needs, and both boards support AMD's Ryzen 9000 X3D chips that gamers care about most.
ULTRA-S: the mainstream pick
The B850M ULTRA-S leans on a 14+2+1 phase 80A DrMOS power design with dual 8-pin CPU connectors for stable flagship-chip operation under load. It carries four reinforced DDR5 slots for up to 256GB with AMD EXPO support and speeds to DDR5-8400 (OC), plus three M.2 slots, two of them PCIe 5.0 x4, all with quick-release heatsinks. Rear I/O includes USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C, 2.5Gb Ethernet and Wi-Fi 7.
ULTRA-OC: tuned for pushing limits
The ULTRA-OC takes a different approach, using a 10+2+1 phase 60A DrMOS design and a dual-DIMM memory layout that favors higher memory clocks, supporting DDR5-8400 EXPO and manual overclocking to DDR5-8800. It is rated for the top Ryzen chips including the 9950X3D and 9850X3D, adds a fourth M.2 slot and bumps networking to 5Gb Ethernet alongside Wi-Fi 7.
The dual-DIMM choice is a telling detail. Two slots instead of four is a deliberate trade that helps memory hit higher stable speeds, which is exactly what an overclocker wants and a sign the OC label is more than marketing.
Both boards add quality-of-life touches like a VGA snap-fit quick release for the PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and M.2 Quick Latch tool-free storage. COLORFUL has not shared pricing and points buyers to local representatives, so the value verdict waits on the numbers. As a feature set for compact Ryzen builds, the ULTRA series covers the bases well.
