SURI: The Seventh Note, the debut game from India's Tathvamasi Studios, now has a firm release date of October 30, 2026 on PS5 and PC via Steam, with a GOG release also planned. The date on the box is not quite the whole story, though. Players who buy the US$24.99 Digital Deluxe Edition get three days of early access starting October 27.
The game is part of the PlayStation India Hero Project, Sony's program backing developers from India, and its publicist is already sending out review codes for both platforms.
A platformer where the level moves to the music
SURI is a rhythm action platformer. You play as Ajira, a girl searching an island for a magical fruit that can cure her mother's illness, while a corrupting rhythm tears the island apart. Running, jumping and phasing all work on the beat, and the studio says missing the timing breaks your flow rather than just costing points.
Each level is built like a song with its own tempo, and the game mixes standard stages with scripted chase sequences. New rhythm-based abilities unlock as you progress, expanding both movement and combat. The art draws on Indian architecture and culture, with the studio naming Rajput forts and Theyyam among its influences.
The PS5 version gets the better haptics
The studio built what it calls a Rhythm Haptics Engine around the DualSense controller, so you hear, see and feel the beat at the same time. The PC version supports haptics too, but Tathvamasi says it enhanced the feature significantly for PS5. For a game where timing is everything, that is a fair reason to lean toward the console version if you own both.
"After nearly three years SURI has gone from an idea in our heads to a fully-realised game for the PS5 and PC," said Glen Martin, the studio's CEO and game director.
Editions and pricing
- Standard Edition, US$19.99: the base game.
- Digital Deluxe Edition, US$24.99: the base game, an exclusive Chandini skin, entitlement to upcoming DLC and three-day early access from October 27.
Pre-orders are live now, and both editions carry a 20% pre-order discount on PS5 only. The Chandini skin will not be sold separately, so the Deluxe Edition is the only way to get it. Philippine store pricing will depend on the PlayStation Store and Steam regional listings.
