NVIDIA Launches GeForce RTX 40 Series Laptops with Improved Performance and Efficiency

By Ira James Jan5,2023 #Press Release

On Tuesday, NVIDIA unveiled its latest laptop GPUs, the GeForce RTX 40 Series, which includes the RTX 4090 and 4080 laptops, followed by the RTX 4070, 4060, and 4050 Laptop GPUs. These GPUs are the result of the company’s Ada Lovelace architecture and 5th generation Max-Q technologies, including DLSS 3, which are designed to deliver up to 4 times faster performance than previous models. The RTX 4090 and 4080 Laptops are the world’s fastest, running up to 3 times more efficiently than previous models, while the RTX 4070, 4060, and 4050 Laptops offer RTX 3080 flagship class performance at one-third of the power, improving thinness, acoustics, and thermals. Prices for the GeForce RTX 40 Series Laptops start at $999 and they will be available starting February 8th.

In addition to the new GPUs, NVIDIA also introduced 5th Generation Max-Q Technologies, which include Ada High Efficiency On-Chip Memory, Tri-Speed Memory Control, and Ultra Low Voltage GDDR6. These technologies improve power efficiency, bandwidth, capacity, and clock gating, and allow the GPU to switch to lower power memory states dynamically. DLSS 3 has also been incorporated into Max-Q technologies like Whisper Mode and Battery Boost 2.0, improving performance and battery life.

The new GeForce RTX 40 Series Laptops will be available from a variety of OEM partners, including Alienware, ASUS, Clevo, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, MSI, and Razer. They will come in a range of sizes, including 14-inch laptops, which have traditionally been limited to basic tasks and apps due to performance limitations. However, with the power of Ada and 5th generation Max-Q Technologies, 14-inch laptop performance has increased by 20 times, allowing them to handle tasks like 3D rendering, video editing, and gaming at ultra settings and fluid frame rates.

Overall, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series Laptops represent a significant advancement in laptop performance, efficiency, and portability, and are poised to become the go-to choice for users looking for high-performance computing on the go.
