MOONTON brought Mobile Legends: Bang Bang's developers to Taguig for the game's 10th anniversary, putting them in a mall full of Filipino players for four days. The celebration at Market! Market! in Bonifacio Global City ran from October 8 to 11, and it is the kind of offline, developers-in-the-room fan event the publisher promised when it opened the anniversary campaign in September.
The bigger news for anyone who still plays is that the anniversary is not over. Several of the in-game events tied to it run well into November.
The rewards still running
MOONTON launched its global ALL IN MLBB campaign on September 4, and its own announcement lists the anniversary events and their windows:
- 10th Anniversary Celebration Pass (September 4 to November 1): earn Battle Pass EXP toward a new Nana Epic Skin, an Epic Skin Selection Chest and a Random Epic Skin Chest. Returning players can also claim a free Returning Anniversary Skin.
- Layla's Stellar Gala (October 9 to November 19): a "Starfall Breakout" mini-game with a shot at Layla's new Collector Skin.
- Free skin and emblem trial (October 9 to November 12).
The Anniversary Gala Weekend, which let players pick from 265 skins, closed on October 11, the same day the Taguig event wrapped. The anniversary also lines up with MLBB entering its 42nd season.
Why the Philippines got the party
MOONTON's pitch is that the Philippines is central to how MLBB grew from a Southeast Asian game into a global one. The company now counts more than 1.5 billion installs and 110 million monthly active users across more than 80 countries.
The local ties are not hard to find. Lapu-Lapu is on the roster, Paquito is modeled on Manny Pacquiao, and recent collaborations brought in the SexBomb Girls and Jollibee.
"For 10 years, MLBB has grown with its players, and the Philippines has been an important part of that journey," said Jay Wang, Head of Publishing, Philippines, at MOONTON Games. He added that the company wants to keep "creating experiences that give players new ways to connect, compete, and make memories together."
Who showed up in Taguig
The event mixed tournaments, creator content and talent appearances. MPL players Karl Gabriel "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno and Cyric "Kingkong" Perez were there, along with MPL caster Caisam "Wolf" Nopueto and content creators Shaira and Fuego Gaming. Actress and cosplayer Myrtle Sarrosa appeared as Layla.
A #LibreNiMLBB activity built on the Filipino habit of treating friends to food, and attendees went home with limited-edition anniversary merchandise and loot bags. An MLBB 10th Anniversary Parade Truck also toured key Metro Manila areas before and during the mall event, working as a mobile photo stop where fans could meet talents and cosplayers.
What MOONTON did not say
For a celebration framed around "the next chapter," the Philippine release carries no actual roadmap. There is no new hero, mode or Philippine collaboration announced, and MOONTON's account of the event does not mention anything new the developers told players.
That leaves the in-game events above as the concrete takeaway. If you have drifted away from the Land of Dawn, the free returning-player skin and the November deadlines are the reason to log back in this month.
