Taipei Game Show 2027 is set for January 21-24 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1, with exhibitor registration now open and Indie Game Award 2027 submissions accepted globally through August 19, 2026.

Dates and Theme

The show adopts a "Party Time" theme for this edition, framing gaming as a shared social activity. Organizers say the 2027 event was built with community input, with renewed emphasis on playable demos, hands-on experiences and entertainment-driven programming across the exhibition floors.

TGS holds a consistent early-January slot on the global games calendar, making it one of the first major public-facing shows of each new year. That timing positions it as both a forward look at what's coming and a key networking stop for publishers and studios targeting Asia-Pacific.

Exhibitor Registration Open

Registration is open across all exhibition sectors: B2B Zone, B2C Zone, INDIE HOUSE and Board Game Wonderland. The event runs alongside the Asia Pacific Game Summit, which provides conference sessions and industry networking for professionals. Fortune Business Insights projects the global video game market will reach US$407.6 billion at a 13.1 percent CAGR, with Asia-Pacific accounting for 46 percent — numbers TGS uses to position itself as the regional market gateway.

Indie Game Award 2027

Indie Game Award 2027 is accepting global submissions through August 19, 2026. The previous edition drew over 500 entries from 51 countries. This year adds a Best Social Impact category to the existing eight-award structure: Best Narrative, Best Audio, Best Visual Art, Best Design, Best Innovation, Best Student Game and Grand Prix.

Grand Prix winners receive a cash prize, a showcase slot at TGS 2027 and official promotional support. For indie studios targeting Asia-Pacific, this is one of the few award programs with a direct exhibition tie-in at a major regional show.

GAME LINKER 2026 on July 17

TGS and APGS are presenting GAME LINKER 2026 on July 17, combining conference sessions with an indie game showcase. It's the nearest milestone on the calendar before the August 19 award submission deadline and a preview of the TGS ecosystem ahead of the January event.
