ASUS is marking ROG's 20th anniversary in the Philippines with the ROG G1000, a gaming desktop whose headline feature isn't the graphics card inside it. It's a cooling fan that doubles as a holographic projector, something ASUS calls the world's first AniMe Holo system in a prebuilt PC, and it's priced at PHP 399,995.
The AniMe Holo module sits in its own sealed chamber with a hinge-door design, specifically so the projector's airflow doesn't interfere with the main system's cooling path. That's a real engineering tradeoff, not just a gimmick bolted onto the case. ASUS is spending thermal budget and chassis space on a feature with zero impact on gaming performance, purely for visual customization.
The performance underneath is conventional flagship territory
Strip away the hologram and the G1000 is a standard high-end build: a Ryzen 7 9800X3D paired with an ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080, support for up to 128GB of DDR5, and a 420mm AIO liquid cooler feeding a dedicated thermal chamber ASUS calls the ROG Thermal Atrium. None of that is new technology. It's ASUS packaging an already-strong spec sheet inside a 104-liter case built to show off the holographic fan as the actual product differentiator.
At PHP 399,995, the G1000 sits well above where most RTX 5080 prebuilts land once you account for the chassis, cooling, and holographic hardware ASUS is charging a premium for. Whether that premium is worth it depends entirely on how much a buyer values a visual gimmick over spending the difference on a better GPU tier or more storage.
The anniversary gear is the actual limited-run product here
Alongside the desktop, ASUS is releasing the ROG Slash Backpack Edition 20 at PHP 10,995 and the ROG Slash Hard-Case Luggage Edition 20 at PHP 15,995, both finished in a black-and-translucent-gold palette with a magnetic FIDLOCK buckle and, on the luggage, a reinforced polycarbonate shell built to survive airport handling. These are the pieces actually tied to ROG's 20-year milestone, both limited editions rather than ongoing catalog items, while the G1000 reads more like a flagship launch that happened to land during the anniversary window than a product built specifically to celebrate it.
All three are available now, the desktop and gear through ROG Exclusive Stores locally, with no indication from ASUS of how long the Edition 20 run lasts before it's gone.
