AMD Confirms Upcoming Driver Update for Older Radeon GPUs

AMD has confirmed that a driver update is coming soon for RDNA 2-based Radeon RX 6000 GPUs and older graphics cards. It has been over two months since the company released a driver update for these GPUs, with the past four updates being exclusive to the newly launched RDNA 3-based Radeon RX 7900 XT and Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPUs.

Frank Azor, Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions and Marketing at AMD, took to Twitter to announce the upcoming driver update, stating that it will be released within the next two weeks. Azor also noted that the company is working towards a unified driver solution for all Radeon GPUs.

"We're working on new AMD Radeon drivers for 6000 series and prior gen cards. Aiming to release them within the next two weeks. Will provide another update if we run into any delays and as we get closer to posting them. Thank you for your patience," Azor wrote on Twitter.

This news will come as a relief to Radeon GPU users who have been waiting for a driver update. While it makes sense for AMD to focus on the new product launch and fixing any issues discovered in the following weeks, the lack of a driver update for older GPUs has raised concerns among users.
