ASUS ROG has confirmed Philippine pricing and availability for the 2026 Strix G, Strix G18 and Strix SCAR 18 gaming laptops. The lineup tops out with the Strix SCAR 18, which ships with the world's first 18 inch 4K 240Hz Mini LED panel in a laptop.
ROG positions the Strix series as its mainstream performance line, sitting below the ultra premium Zephyrus models but above entry level gaming laptops. For 2026 the line gets new Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processors, NVIDIA's RTX 50 series mobile GPUs and a refreshed cooling system, which matters for buyers who plan to keep these machines running at full load for hours during long raid nights or render jobs.
Strix G16 and G18: the volume sellers
The Strix G16 and G18 get 2.5K ROG Nebula Displays running at 300Hz, a jump aimed at competitive shooter and fighting game players who need every millisecond of motion clarity. Configurations range from an RTX 5050 and Core Ultra 7 255HX at the entry tier up to an RTX 5080 paired with 32GB of DDR5 at the top.
Local pricing runs from PHP 159,995 for the base Strix G16 to PHP 319,995 for the maxed out RTX 5080 variant, with the 18 inch RTX 5070 Ti configuration priced at PHP 244,995. Every tier bundles an ROG backpack, a gaming mouse, three months of PC Game Pass and a year of Microsoft 365 Basic with 100GB of cloud storage.
Strix SCAR 18 leads with display tech
The SCAR 18 is the showpiece. Its Mini LED panel packs over 2,000 dimming zones, 1,600 nits of peak brightness and 100% DCI-P3 coverage, with ROG's Nebula ELMB backlight strobing technology promising up to 16x sharper motion clarity over a standard panel. That panel sits behind an optional RTX 5090 Laptop GPU and the same Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus chip, with DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation on tap for the latest AAA titles.
ASUS also thickened the SCAR 18's vapor chamber from 2.5mm to 3.5mm and claims a 91% increase in total airflow from upgraded liquid crystal polymer fans, dropping internal temperatures by as much as 15°C. The only SKU confirmed for the Philippines so far is the RTX 5090 flagship with 64GB of RAM and 2TB of storage, priced at PHP 439,995.
Still tool-less, still RGB-heavy
Both lines keep ROG's tool-less chassis design, which gives owners direct access to RAM, SSD slots and fans without a screwdriver, plus a Q-latch system specifically for swapping drives. The SCAR 18 carries over the AniMe Vision lid display, an 810-LED matrix that runs custom animations or imported GIFs through the Armoury Crate software, while both series get full-surround Aura RGB lighting.
This generation arrives as ROG marks 20 years as a brand, and the company is running its Life with ROG promo campaign alongside the launch with prizes tied to the anniversary. The laptops carry a 3-year international and local warranty plus 1-year accidental damage protection under ASUS' No. 1 Quality and Service program.
The bottom line
The Strix SCAR 18's Mini LED panel is the real headline here, since 4K at 240Hz on a laptop screen is still rare even at the high end. For most buyers though, the Strix G16 and G18 configurations in the PHP 190,000 to PHP 245,000 range are the more practical entry points into RTX 50 series gaming this cycle. The full lineup is available now through authorized ASUS retailers nationwide.
