By Ira James Oct16,2023 #News

On October 18, Diablo IV is set to roll out its latest season, aptly named “Season of Blood,” featuring an array of new content for players. The season will introduce a novel questline, Vampiric Powers, and five new endgame bosses. Alongside the seasonal update, Patch 1.2.0 aims to enhance the gaming experience with a slew of quality-of-life improvements.

In a significant move, Diablo IV will also make its debut on the Steam platform, adding to its existing availability on Battle.net, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. The Steam version will support cross-play and cross-save functionalities across all platforms.

Seasonal Highlights

The season’s narrative centers around Vampire Hunter Erys, voiced by actress Gemma Chan. Players will join forces with Erys to combat a new vampiric menace threatening the realm of Sanctuary. The season introduces a unique resource, “Potent Blood,” which players can collect to unlock Vampiric Powers, adding a dark twist to their skill set.

The season also debuts new monsters, led by the vampire Lord Zir. Players will encounter Blood Seekers, corrupted beings that mimic player characters and wield tainted class skills. Special events, such as the Blood Harvest Season Event, offer higher chances of acquiring Potent Blood and the necessary Pact Armor.

Quality-of-Life Updates

Patch 1.2.0 aims to streamline the player experience. Newcomers can now bypass the campaign and dive directly into seasonal content after completing the prologue. Renown rewards, including extra skill and paragon points, will now carry over from one season to the next. The patch also promises a 40% faster XP gain, enabling players to reach Level 100 more quickly.

Additional improvements target the endgame experience, including a Boss ladder and increased spawn rates for Legion Events and World Bosses. The patch also addresses item and inventory management, making gems a crafting material and reducing the frequency of unnecessary trips to town.
