AMD releases Adrenalin Edition 26.1.1 with optional AI Bundle for local workloads

AMD has released AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.1.1. The update introduces the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition AI Bundle, an optional installer designed to simplify setting up local AI workloads on supported AMD hardware.

On Windows systems, getting started with local AI development typically requires manual setup of drivers, Python environments, and framework dependencies. The AI Bundle aims to reduce that setup by automatically installing and configuring a set of commonly used AI tools on compatible AMD-powered systems.

The bundle includes:

  • PyTorch for Windows, allowing users to build, train, and run models locally
  • ComfyUI for visual image-generation workflows using ROCm-enabled PyTorch
  • Ollama for running large language models locally
  • LM Studio for installing and running LLMs with configurable parameters
  • Amuse, an AMD-optimized text-to-image generation application

The Adrenalin AI Bundle is supported on AMD Radeon RX 9000 Series and RX 7000 Series GPUs, with RX 7700-class hardware or higher required. Support also extends to AMD Ryzen AI Max, Ryzen AI 400 Series, and Ryzen AI 300 Series processors.

According to AMD, the bundle allows compatible systems to run AI workloads locally without relying on cloud-based services. Pricing, performance targets, and supported model sizes were not disclosed.
