AMD has announced a series of new products and initiatives to expand its support for its 5G partner ecosystem ahead of MWC 2023. The company aims to deliver adaptive computing solutions for the 5G telco market, spanning from core to radio access networks (RAN) applications.

One of the key announcements is the launch of a new Telco Solutions testing lab in partnership with VIAVI Solutions, a leading provider of network test and assurance solutions. The lab will help operators and telco solutions providers test, validate and scale their end-to-end computing solutions using AMD’s powerful processors, Adaptive SoCs, SmartNICs, FPGAs and DPUs.

Another major announcement is the expansion of the Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC DFE family with two new devices: the ZU63DR and ZU64DR. These devices are designed to enable growth and deployment of 4G/5G radios in worldwide markets where low cost, power and spectrum-efficient radios are required to address increased wireless connectivity. The Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC DFE family combines digital front-end (DFE) processing with programmable logic for adaptive radio applications.

AMD also announced an expanded collaboration with Nokia using 4th Gen AMD EPYC processor-based servers to deliver Nokia Cloud RAN solutions. These solutions will help communications service providers achieve performance and energy efficiency goals by leveraging AMD’s cloud-native capabilities and high core counts.

Additionally, AMD will showcase its Adaptive Computing Solutions for 5G Telco Market at MWC 2023 (Hall 2, Stand 2M61). The company will feature more than 18 technology and radio partners to highlight its 5G leadership and innovation.

AMD’s investments in 5G are part of its vision to transform the future of wireless communications with adaptive computing. The company claims that its products and partnerships will enable faster, smarter and better 5G services for customers around the world.
