A couple of weeks ago we were invited in the ASUS PH office to check out some of the new ASUS laptops: Two new ROG laptops, a new Zenbook, and a new series of Vivobooks.
So let’s have a quick look.
ASUS ROG GL504 Hero II and Scar II
First up is the ROG GL504 Hero II and Scar II which is the successor to the previous similarly named ROG gaming laptops.
Both are equipped with a 144hz screen an updated Intel processor, and more RGB aesthetics powered by Aura Sync. For some reason, gaming hardware should come with a lot of RGB lighting nowadays and the GL504 Hero II and Scar II takes it to another level with an RGB stip in front of the laptop. The main differences between the two are the graphics card with the Hero II packing an Nvidia GTX 1060 while the Scar II has the much more powerful GTX 1070. Perfect for competitive gamers who are always on the go.
ASUS Zenbook UX391
Comes with a totally redefined design into the ZenBook series, the new ASUS ZenBook UX391 features a new ErgoLift hinge that is meant to increase typing comfort as well as to provide increased airflow for the laptop’s cooling fan.
A quick look at the specs, it also has an updated 8th generation processor and it has USB Type-C and Thunderbolt that supports fast-charge, external monitors and external GPUs that supports this technology. The thin bezel on the screen is also beautiful and the all metal unibody feels premium. I suppose this is meant to be a premium business laptop and almost a MacBook killer.
ASUS VivoBook S530
With different color choices from Icicle Gold, Gun Metal, Silver Blue, Star Grey, and Firmament Green, these laptops are meant to capture the lifestyle users who are looking for a decently powered laptop that can both do work and light gaming. Equipped with 8th Generation Intel processors and an Nvidia MX150, this series is going to be another budget powerhouse to look forward to.
Just like the ZenBook UX391, this also has the ErgoLift hinge which will provide a comfortable typing experience.
