Because the 12th Gen Intel® CoreTM processors use a new LGA1700 socket, users cannot use previous processors by modifying firmware or hardware details. The new architecture uses Intel® 7 stepping and a “hybrid” design of P-Core and E-Core, allowing processors to switch between high performance and low loading energy saving modes. This allows users to fully utilise processors while meeting system requirements.
